I'm back on track to get the last of my weight off. I'm playing volleyball on Mondays and Fridays for two hours, Yoga for an hour on Wednesday, and Pilates Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Because the weather is so nice we've been going for walks in the afternoon. I've also joined with some other members in our ward to play softball. I lost 7.2 pounds this week, and Jeff, who's doing it with me, lost 1.5 pounds. I feel great and am loving all the activity, although both my knees are bruised from volleyball!
Jeff is doing quite well and is excited by recently meeting another young father in the ward who's a musician and punk lover. He's working steadily and seems to like it alright. He's registered for a calculus class at Pima which starts next Monday. He's going to start with a few classes at Pima and transfer to the U of A in the fall. We've decided not to take out any further loans, so we'll be saving money and relying on grants to get his education finished.
We're all in trouble now, Helen can open doors for herself! Once she discovered she could, every door must be open. She's really doing a lot more talking recently, she's stringing phrases together. She's very bright and a joy, but she is also fearless and LOVES to climb. A bad combination, but just one more way she's so unique in comparisson to Felicity.
Felicity is loving Primary, and I'm grateful for her devoted teachers. She's doing well in the pre-school that we do with her each day and is able to recognize and draw several letters. We can't wait for Helen to start nursery next month. I'm serving as a Primary teacher (in the valiant 8 class), as an ASL interpreter, and as the Enrichment assistant chairperson, which keeps me busy!
I have a potential job at Raytheon which would start at the end of the month. A brother in the ward is hoping to be able to use me in a quality assurance position. It's still tentative, based on their budget restraints, but I have also been referred to the mine here in Sahuarita. The mine has a lot of need for environmentally trained individuals for water testing, ecological impact analysis, etc. So I'm putting in some resumes and applications there as well.
We are doing so well and I feel so blessed.
